My name is Lynn Barron and I’m excited to be a Disney Travel Planner with ConciEARS!
I grew up in Southern California, and going to Disneyland at least once a year was a normal thing for my family. I performed with my high school band at Disneyland three times. I became an annual passholder in 1988 and then became a Cast Member at the Plaza Inn Restaurant in 1991, working there for two years.
After touring with my band as the drummer and travel planner for a few years, I settled down and my love for Disneyland drew me back to working there again in 1998, as a Custodial Cast Member. For almost nine years, I enjoyed discovering everything I could about Disneyland and how it operated, enjoying some great perks like seeing the Sherman Brothers perform and discuss their career in an intimate setting, attending soft openings of Disney California Adventure, Tower of Terror, Bugs Land, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, and more. I also learned many skills during that time and one was to be more assertive and become a leader at times, becoming a Lead. I made so many great memories I’ll treasure forever.
I learned to have a great appreciation for Disneyland and its history during this time.
In 2007, my wife Erin and I were expecting our son Luke and wanted to move to Utah, where my wife had family. I missed being close to Disneyland and started listening to Disney podcasts, eventually starting my own, The Sweep Spot podcast, a show about Disneyland history, news, and more. My friend and former Disneyland co-worker, Ken, joined me later and we are still going strong with over 300 episodes.
We partnered with ConciEars in 2017 and have loved working with them ever since.
In 2015 and 2019, I co-authored two Disneyland books with my co-host: Cleaning the Kingdom: Insider Tales of Keeping Walt’s Dream Spotless and Cleaning the Kingdom: Night, Day, Past and Present. They are about Disneyland Custodial and our time working there. We have had some great opportunities to sell our books at events like Disneyana Conventions, local events, and three past D23 Expo events, and will be doing so again at this year’s Expo.
Although I’ve only been to Walt Disney World once, in 1999, I have immersed myself in media about it and feel comfortable with what I know about the Resort, as well as other Disney destinations.
Disneyland has always been a special place for me because I have some great memories that I will never forget and hope to help others plan and create memories that they will also have for a lifetime.
I look forward to working with my colleagues at ConciEars and getting to know my clients as well.
