Disneyland Paris is the most popular tourist destination in Europe, and for good reason. Whether you’re visiting exclusively to see the park or coming as part of a larger European vacation, Disneyland Paris provides a great dose of magic with some inventive new attractions along with reimagined classics. Here are 10 iconic spots in Disneyland Paris that make this park an amazing experience:

The dragon under Sleeping Beauty’s Castle (!)

“La Taniere du Dragon” is arguably the most iconic and noteworthy part of Disneyland Paris. There’s a huge, animatronic dragon that lives in a cave below the castle, and it is mesmerizing to watch.

Big Thunder Railroad (Frontierland)

If you like the wildest ride in the wilderness at US parks, you will LOVE the Paris version. It starts in Frontierland but — get this — takes you through a tunnel under the Rivers of the Far West and around a ghostly mining town on an island. So cool!

Alice’s Curious Labyrinth (Fantasyland)

This walk-through interactive maze lets you encounter magical creatures like the Cheshire Cat and ends with you escaping the Queen of Hearts’ wrath. A very fun place to explore and spend as much time as you’d like — plus amazing views of Fantasyland when you emerge!

Other walkthrough attractions

There are a handful of other walk-through attractions besides Alice’s Labryrinth: there’s Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant (Sleeping Beauty Castle) in Fantasyland; Le Passage Enchanté d’Aladdin featuring scenes from (you guessed it) Aladdin in Adventureland; Les Mystères du Nautilus, a look into underwater worlds similar to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in Discoveryland; and arcades along Main Street.

Phantom Manor (Frontierland)

This is Disneyland Paris’ version of the Haunted Mansion, which just reopened after a year of renovations! It has a lot in common with its stateside counterparts, but lots of differences too — including a decidedly darker feel, plus an extensive back story set in the Old West that ties it to a few other Frontierland attractions.

Disney Illuminations!

This is the nighttime fireworks, lasers & projections show — shown nightly at park close like an epic closing ceremony of the day. It features classic and new Disney stories. Be sure to grab a spot in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle to see all the projections up close! As long as you’re there about 30 minutes early, you should be able to get a great view.

Adventure Isle (Adventureland)

If you’re bringing kids along, this is a must! This area of Adventureland is full of places to explore (kind of like Tom Sawyer Island at Disneyland, but better) — caves, the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse, suspension bridges, a pirate’s Skull Rock, and more.

Hyperspace Mountain (Discoveryland)

Located in Disneyland Paris’ version of Tomorrowland, this ride is similar to those found in the States — but it starts outdoors and blasts you into an indoor Star Wars-themed track through space!

Crush’s Coaster (Toon Studio)

This is a spinning roller coaster themed to Finding Nemo! You’ll meet your favorite undersea friends then “ride” along the EAC (East Australian Current, for those not familiar with turtle lingo).

Ratatouille: The Adventure (Toon Studio)

This ride not only lets you experience life as the famous mouse, zipping and dodging around a restaurant — but it’s also well-known for its advanced technology and trackless ride system. It’s located in an area of the park dedicated to Ratatouille, including Bistrot Chez Remy, a sit-down restaurant with French-inspired fare.
