Disney Cruise Line just revealed all the exciting details about the upcoming Disney Believe ship! And while the latest and greatest is always exciting, my job as your travel advisor is to help you find the vacation that’s the best fit for your family.

So rather than simply selling you on the newest, shiniest ship in the fleet, let’s look at what makes the Disney Believe unique and why it might just be the perfect ship for your next family vacation! (You can also compare all the Disney Cruise Line ships here.)

From beloved Disney movies and brand-new entertainment to some familiar Disney Cruise Line favorites, the Disney Believe has a lot to get excited about. But which of these experiences will matter most to your family? Here are 10 reasons the Disney Believe might be the ship for you!

If Moana is a fan favorite in your house

Moana is taking a front-row seat on this ship! The Grand Hall — the heart of the ship and where every guest will make their grand entrance — is inspired by the story of everyone’s favorite wayfinder!

This central gathering space will host shows and experiences throughout the voyage. This sets the tone for the ship’s overall feel and personality. From the statue of Moana with her trusty companions, Hei Hei and Pua, to the stunning chandelier inspired by the movement of the ocean, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped right into the world of Moana.

And you know Disney loves a little hidden magic! Look closely at that ocean-inspired chandelier, and you’ll find the Heart of Te Fiti tucked inside. With a ceiling sprinkled with constellations and railings featuring designs inspired by Moana’s skirt, there will be so many thoughtful details for fans to discover.

I can’t wait to see this space come to life — and I have a feeling Moana fans are going to feel right at home!

Bonus: Disney Cruise Line also announced that one of the cafes onboard will be called Cafe Kakamora – just imagine getting your morning coffee with a side of adorable, coconut pirate chaos!

If you’ve got the Encanto soundtrack on repeat

Encanto fans, this is the moment we’ve all been waiting for! The Madrigal family is taking to the big stage, bringing the music, magic, and heart of this beloved movie to life in a whole new way. And let’s be honest — Lin-Manuel Miranda’s incredible songs were practically made for a show-stopping performance!

Disney Cruise Line is known for its Broadway-caliber entertainment, with impressive sets, talented performers, stunning costumes, and storytelling that makes you feel like you’ve stepped right into the movie. I have a feeling this is going to be one magical performance you won’t want to miss!

If you grew up dreaming of living “Under the Sea”

This might just be one of my favorite details about the Disney Believe! Disney Cruise Line clearly knows there are plenty of us who grew up dreaming about life under the sea, singing along to Ariel, and wishing we could be part of her world. And even though we’re all grown up now, that Disney magic never really goes away!

Enter Sea Notes, an elegant piano bar inspired by Ariel’s grotto that brings a sophisticated spin to The Little Mermaid. Picture a swanky lounge, a delicious drink in hand, and live musical entertainment surrounded by subtle nods to one of Disney’s most iconic films. It’s the perfect blend of grown-up vacation vibes and the Disney nostalgia we never outgrew. 

If your kids are in their Zootopia era

One of the spots you’ll likely find yourself visiting throughout your cruise is the ship’s multi-level entertainment venue, where guests can enjoy smaller shows, trivia, and games. On the Disney Believe, this space gets a pop-star makeover inspired by Gazelle from Zootopia!

While Disney Cruise Line always does an incredible job bringing its spaces to life, one of my favorite details is how the theming often carries over into the entertainment itself. For example, the Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny feature adult comedy shows inspired by Indiana Jones and Deadpool, respectively. They’re such a fun, unexpected twist on the usual cruise entertainment. I can’t wait to see what the entertainment team dreams up for the Disney Believe!

Bonus for Zootopia fans: Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde will also be making their Disney Cruise Line debut with meet-and-greet opportunities in this space!

If Rapunzel will always have a special place in your heart

Tangled already has a place on the Disney Magic, but aboard the Disney Believe, we’re getting a reimagined version of the show featuring updated sets and special effects!

I know I’ve said it before, but it deserves repeating: Disney Cruise Line knows how to put on a show! These Broadway-caliber productions feature the kind of impressive staging, costumes, and storytelling you’d happily pay good money to see at your local theater.

I’ve seen the original Tangled show aboard the Disney Magic, and it’s already incredible, so I honestly can’t imagine how Disney plans to make it even better. But I’m definitely excited to see what they have up their sleeves!

If you live for the Disney Classics and nostalgia

For me, Disney history is a huge part of the magic! There’s something special about those nostalgic touches that remind us why we fell in love with Disney in the first place, and the Disney Believe has a space that leans right into that feeling.

Meet Wishing Well, a lounge inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This open, inviting space brings the classic fairy tale to life, with thoughtful details that make you feel like you’ve stepped right into the story. And because Disney loves to sprinkle in a little mischief, some of the specialty drinks even pay tribute to the Evil Queen!

Honorable mention: 1923. This elegant main dining restaurant, found across the Disney Wish-class ships, is a must for Disney history lovers. Named after the year The Walt Disney Company was founded, the restaurant celebrates Disney’s animation legacy. You’ll find artwork, props, and behind-the-scenes details that make dinner feel like a trip through Disney history.

If your favorite Disney quote is “Yoo-hoo! Big summer blowout!”

Speaking of dining, the Disney Believe is bringing us a brand-new restaurant that takes us straight into the world of Frozen! Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast invites guests into a cozy Scandinavian summerhaus courtyard deep in the forest, where Oaken and his family welcome everyone to gather around the table. With its warm, welcoming atmosphere and a touch of hygge (the Danish concept of coziness and togetherness), it’s the perfect setting for a family feast!

But this is more than just dinner! Oaken’s cousins will provide live musical entertainment, performing reimagined versions of songs from the beloved Frozen soundtracks. With appearances from fan-favorite characters like Anna and Kristoff, this dining experience promises plenty of music, fun, and Arendelle-inspired magic.

If you enjoy fueling your emotions with sweet treats

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, Joyful Sweets is sure to be a favorite stop aboard the Disney Believe ship! This dessert shop will bring the colorful world of Inside Out 2 to life, featuring theming inspired by the emotions we all know and love. From Joy and Sadness to some of the newer emotions introduced in the sequel, this space is bound to be full of fun details and picture-worthy treats.

If you’ve never been on a Disney Cruise

If you’ve been curious about Disney Cruise Line but aren’t quite ready to commit to a full week at sea, the Disney Believe might be the perfect place to start!

The ship will sail four- and five-night itineraries to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. These shorter sailings give you enough time to explore the ship, experience the incredible entertainment and dining, enjoy a day at sea, and discover some beautiful destinations without feeling like you need to commit to a full seven-night vacation. Personally, I think a five-night cruise is such a sweet spot for first-time cruisers. You have time to settle into ship life and enjoy everything Disney has to offer, but it still feels like a manageable getaway.

And here’s an even bigger perk: these itineraries include stops at Disney Cruise Line’s private island destinations! Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point offer gorgeous beaches and the perfect family beach day, with the added convenience of feeling like an extension of the ship. So many of the things you love about cruising — like beach towels, chairs, and delicious meals — are included on the islands, too! You get the best of both worlds: a beautiful tropical beach experience without having to plan every detail or pay extra for the basics. And if your family is craving a little adventure, optional excursions like swimming with stingrays or parasailing offer even more ways to make the day memorable.
