My Disney bucket list got a BIG check mark when I visited my first international Disney theme park — Disneyland Paris! There are so many amazing places to visit in France, but for Disney lovers…this is a must-do!

Here are 5 things you might not know about Disneyland Paris:

1 – It’s easy to get there from Paris! Disneyland Paris makes a great day trip from the center of Paris. You can take the RER-A commuter train to its last stop, the Marne-la-Vallee/Chessy station, which is literally just outside the gates of Disneyland Paris! A train ticket costs only a couple euros, and the ride takes less than an hour. 

2 – Or you can stay in the magic 24/7. If you’d rather get a full dose of the Disney experience, stay at one of the seven Disney-owned properties within walking distance of Disneyland Paris. I recommend the Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, recently refurbished with a very cool Avengers theme. 

3 – Enjoy the perks of staying onsite. When you book a hotel stay at Disneyland Paris, you get some very fun extras like park tickets for EVERY day of your visit (even arrival & departure days!) and a meal plan. There are “Half Board” or “Full Board” dining options, similar to the old dining plan at Walt Disney World, where you get vouchers for meals on every day of your stay. You can spend these at the hotel restaurants or in the parks. One less thing to worry about! 

4 – Eat at Walt’s. Speaking of food, do NOT miss Walt’s Restaurant on Main Street. This restaurant serves delicious, upscale comfort food in a setting reminiscent of the exclusive Club 33 at Disneyland — but all are welcome here! You’ll find lots of memorabilia and photos from Walt Disney’s life, and some of his favorite foods on the menu. Request a table near the window and enjoy your meal overlooking Main Street. 

5 – Stay late! Do NOT miss the fireworks show — Disneyland Paris is famous for including drones in its nighttime entertainment. I got to watch the Disney D-Light show that debuted as part of Disneyland Paris’ 30th anniversary, but NEW for 2023 is a Marvel-themed drone show featuring all of your favorite superheroes like Captain Marvel and Spiderman.
