Easily the best food event at the Disneyland CA property, the Food and Wine Festival started last week with a soft opening on March 1st. Known for the amazing variety of food and drinks this is something we wait for all year long! Favorite dishes that are back this year are the Mickey Mouse shaped Macaron with Snickers and the Carbonara-Garlic Mac & Cheese.
Some new dishes worth noting are Kenny’s Family Cheesecake and the Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese Flatbread. My favorite items were actually from places other than the main food booths. I loved the Korean Fried Chicken Slider at Studio Catering Co., and the cookies and cream donuts from Lamplight Lounge (reservations required). The tasty Bourbon Strawberry Lemonade from Paradise Garden Grill gave me Mint Julep vibes.
And don’t forget about the amazing entertainment like the Jammin’ Chefs playing live percussion on kitchenware along with Daisy, Minnie, Chip, and Dale. Fun for the whole family! For the kids Alice’s Wonderland Bakery Unbirthday Party allows children ages 3-11 to decorate and eat their own cupcakes with Minnie. Be sure to sign up 45 minutes before each show as space is very limited!
Did you know they also offer wine and mixology classes? These book out very quickly so snag those reservations early. My favorite is Trader Sam’s mixology class. For $159 per person, you learn how to make one of Trader Sam’s iconic drinks the HippopotoMai-Tai, and sample some tasty snacks. You also get to take home a souvenir tiki mug!
Although I missed out on signing up for the mixology class I always love when they change Soarin Over the World back to the original Soarin Over California!
These are just a few of the great treats and activities going on through April 25th.
See the official food and wine guide here for all the details!
Bon Appetit!
From March 3 through April 25, 2023, Soarin’ Over California will return for a limited time. (Christian Thompson/Disneyland Resort)
